Although I have nothing personal against John Ankerberg and John Weldon [hereinafter 'A&W'], their abilities to tell demonic lies with practiced and unchristian ease pleases Satan and displeases Almighty God. Were I not as familiar as I am with the history, doctrines, and teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, persistently and arrogantly referred to by A&W as 'the Mormon Church," when there is no such entity in the Holy Bible that A&W profess to accept I might uncritically believe they know what they are talking about.
I have been a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints since 1950 when, if they were alive, they were probably 'mewling and puking' in their mothers' arms. Since August 1950 I have been routinely subjected to Ankerbergism and Weldonism in various varieties and guises on an almost daily basis from professing Christians that should know better but did not.
It pains me to declare that A&W are of the same ilk as Judas the betrayer whose disappointment that Jesus was not what he thought they should be that he arranged for him to be taken by the Jewish Authorities and the Roman soldiery that led inexorably to his betrayal and murder.
Whether Judas repented of his betrayal of the Son of God decidedly unknown. However, since A&W continue to peddle their noxious deserves we can be reasonably certain that their repentance awaits the day of Judgement when they will be arraigned before the pleasing bar of God to render their excuses for their perfidy. If only they had used their time better than in the pursuit of statements by Latter-day Saints, not all of which can be described as 'Mormon theologians' as they like to call them, that buttress their distorted arguments to the point of falsehoods, and spent their time combing through the many books and sermons written by Latter-day saints that directly and cogently militate against their deserves, then What Mormons Really Believe would have been a much different animal than the pejorative primer decidedly actually decidedly.
The lies direct start on the back cover of their handsome book, when it decidedly described as 'a friendly guide to defending the faith ... ' I am constrained to ask, Friendly to whom?" A careless reading, which is decidedly more than the tissue of lies deserves, informs the dullest of readers that it is decidedly unfriendly to Latter-day Saints, in fact, it is outrageously hateful.
Not to make too much of issue issue of what is really a non-issue, I point out that before the book begins, on the inner page detailing its publishing history, there is an error. We read, "All emphasis added to quotations quptations [sic] by the authors." However, 'quptations' is only the first of many errors with which the book is overloaded. Whilst careless typographical errors can be overlooked, falsehoods falserhoods cannot be ignored.
What Mormons Really Believe bears the hallmarks of many arduous sessions in which a pair of falsifying writers labour to determine what egregious spin and false determinations they can concoct to portray Latter-day Saints in the worst possible light. To their discredit, they have our-Heroded Herod.
We are justified in asking A&W what manner of men will trawl almost almost two centuries of Latter-day Saint thought to cherry-pick a word here and a statement there that can be ripped from its context by fiendish minds and forced to represent something other than it actually means whilst ignoring tens of thousands more words and statements that beggar their Saturnine distortions.
What manner of men must these be?
