The Great Apostacy

WHAT EVIDENCE EXISTS TO SUPPORT THE CLAIM?

The Mormon Position Regarding the Universal Apostasy

The fact that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claims to be the Restored Church of Jesus Christ naturally assumes that there was a falling away or apostasy some time in the years after the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ in Palestine, and, therefore, it was necessary for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its ministry to be brought back - restored - to the earth for the blessing of all mankind.

It is hardly surprising that the Mormon view is not shared by non-Latter-day Saint Christians, nor that Mormons have been targetted by some extremely angry ones who feel that the Mormon claim is insulting to them and their cults, sects, and denominations.  This is not the response anticipated, although it is possible to understand it to some extent.  What is more surprising  is the extreme lengths some who call themselves Christians have gone in their efforts to destroy Mormons and Mormonism.
