In ‘Registered Charity’ ROT’s Quarterly Newsletter [‘Spring 93 – Page 5’] in a disturbing piece called, “Inside The Mormon Temple,” an unidentified ‘Christian’ woman alleges she went into the Salt lake City temple to attend an endowment session to make ‘an up to date recording’ of it. Apparently, she then changed her mind because she says she ‘hoped to participate in [washings and anointings]’ and record them, but was disappointed at not being asked to take part in these ordinances.
She tells of the sign outside the gate that advises ‘Members Only,’ but chose to ignore it. She describes the foyer of the temple where patrons must show a current temple recommend, signed by their ward bishop and stake president. Without a current temple recommend, it is not possible for anyone to go beyond the entrance vestibule and proceed into the temple proper. She does not refer to any temple recommend, so how does she intend us to know how she was able to enter the temple?
Being a ‘Christian’ she obligingly deposits her camera with the front desk staff, but has secreted a ‘recorder’ that she has hidden in her long hair under a decorative hair net. Apparently ‘Christians’ are free to choose which of the strict regulations required of temple attending Latter-day Saints they decide to conform to and which they can ignore.
She chose to leave her camera but to hide her recorder to make a recording of the sacred ceremonies that she intended to publish. For what purpose she was ‘inspired’ to do this, nor by whom, she does not say.
She describes a panic attack that overcame her when she had changed into her borrowed temple clothing.
“I felt a distinct impression to take the tape recorder out of the hairnet and leave it in the locker. A little bewildered, since that rather voided my reason for being there, I did so. I’ve been a Christian long enough to recognize that God knows best.”
The rest of her somewhat lengthy testimony is of little interest except she uses common forms of innuendo common to Anti-Mormons. At the end of her detailed description of the endowment ceremony, she adds,
“I must add that I cannot guarantee that this is an accurate description of the endowment ceremony, O went only once, and although I wrote down as many notes as I could when I came out it is impossible to remember everything.’
Nevertheless, she is remarkably detailed, and I find it difficult to believe that she had no source other than a single visit. For example, she offers information that is not given during endowment sessions, and it is obvious that she has used sources other than what she claims are her personal experiences.
Earlier, I referenced a glaring omission, involving the presentation of a current temple recommend to the staff at the front desk. Since it is not possible to proceed beyond the desk without a recommend, we must conclude that she either bought one or persuaded someone to lend her theirs. But, since she intended on breaching every confidence shared with her in the temple, why is she silent about the source of her dishonest permission?
In her penultimate paragraph, she returns to what she earlier called her ‘distinct impression’ to remove the underhanded recorder from her coiffure. On her second visit to her time after she had changed into the pure white clothes worn in the temple, her ‘distinct impression’ is elevated into being in ‘the presence of the Lord,’ - inside the Temple, mind you - and her ‘impression’ becomes ‘guided by God to leave the tape recorder in the locker, and assured of his care.’
She complains that she did not feel ‘the spirit at all.’ That statement directly contradicts her ‘distinct impression,’ her witness to ‘the presence of the Lord,’ and her claim to have been ‘guided by God.’
God does not guide people to lie, cheat, and do that which is forbidden. There is, however, a Demonic Being that does encourage lying, cheating, and deceit. But this Malignant Entity is not God.
The witness speaks of Satan appearing when Adam prays. Satan insists that he is ‘the God of this world.’ This sentiment is confirmed by Jesus and by Paul in the Holy Bible although the ROT Spy seems totally unaware of these passages in the Holy Bible.
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. [John 14:30]
We should rejoice in the Saviour's victories over Satan, ‘the prince of this world,’ by emulating the example of his love and obedience.
The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. [2 Corinthians 4:4]
The phrase “the god of this world” shows that Paul knew Satan is the major influence on those whose minds and religious thinking are expressed by the ideas, opinions, goals, hopes and views of ungodly people. Satan influences the world’s false philosophies and counterfeit religions, such as ‘ministries’ that encourage its members to lie, deceive, use trickery, and make sport of sacred and holy things. It applies also to ‘ministries’ that use the fruits of deception, lies, trickery, and mockery to advance their causes.
Therefore, we safely conclude that Reach Out Trust, by its nefarious actions, serves the god of this world, who is Satan, the enemy of God, the enemy of Truth, and the enemy of those seeking salvation through Christ Jesus.
Satan rules over the unbelieving world and unbelievers follow Satan's agenda. According to 2 Corinthians 4:4, the "god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ." Satan's agenda includes pushing false religions, including parachurches such as Reach Out Trust, onto the unbelieving world—a false faith that blinds the unbeliever from the truth of the Gospel. Satan’s philosophies are the fortresses in which such people are imprisoned, held captive, fed lies and foolishness, and standing urgently in need of being be set free that they can be brought captive to Christ in obedience to Him and His Truth.
Once again, ROT has descended into the infernal regions to mock the faithful. Shame on them!
Doug Harris, the boss of ROT, once claimed, falsely, that 'we do not use such methods,' meaning embracing information obtained in secret by tape recorder or similar devices.
The fact that ROT printed this Lady's stolen testimony proves that Harrism ergo ROT, speaks with forked tongue whilst claiming to be Christian. The Devil makes them do it, clearly!
That is a good reason to keep well away from ROT.
