KING RADBOD - ALMOST PERSUADED!
KING RADBOD - ALMOST PERSUADED!

During the second journey of Saint Boniface to Rome, Wulfram, or Vulfran (some versions have Bishop Willibrod), a monk and ex-archbishop of Sens tried to convert Radbod to Christianity and almost succeeded.

Radbod, it is told, was nearly baptised, but refused the rite when informed that none of his non-Christian ancestors would be in Heaven after his death.

Angrily he declared he preferred to  spend eternity in Hell with his ancestors than in Heaven with his enemies, particularly the Franks that covetted his kingdom.
